WORKING AS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN AUSTRALIA

A physiotherapist differs from a nurse, as they require different courses. In Australia, physiotherapists have more autonomy compared to those in working in Europe.

The role of a physiatrist doesn’t exist in Australia therefore the physiotherapist has more responsibilities.

WORKING AS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN AUSTRALIA

A Bachelor of Applied Science/ Physiotherapy (which generally take fours years to complete) requires you to pass a written and oral test of high difficulty in which you’re strictly asked questions about the Australian physiotherapy sector.

It’s hard to pass this test without having previously studied physiotherapy in Australia. That’s why Australian Physiotherapy Association think that you’ll have to integrate some university exams in Australia. Between those university exams, the exam for certification and registration to the association, the process can be at least two years long, during which you can’t practice your trade.
