WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE CITY?
Perth! When I first moved to Australia, I lived on the Central Coast—a beautiful area not far from Sydney with so much to explore. I loved it there, but after a while, I found myself craving a change.
Last year, I visited Perth and instantly fell in love. It was exactly what I was looking for—and so much more! Perth offers the perfect balance between city life and beach life. It’s smaller than Sydney but has so much personality and charm.
TELL US ABOUT AN AUSSIE EXPERIENCE
When I first arrived in Australia, I worked in retail. Every time I helped a customer, at the end of the payment process, they would say, “Ta.”
I found it really funny because, to pay, you have to “tap” your card or phone. So, I thought they were referring to the action of tapping/paying and couldn’t understand why they kept saying it out loud!
One day, my coworker explained that “Ta” actually means “thank you,” and I was completely shocked—and a little embarrassed!

- Have an open mindset.
- Try everything.
- Do it scared, but do it anyway.
- Remember, life is too short.
